Black Widow released as the 24th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise. It follows the story of Natasha Romanov, codename Black Widow, a former spy of the Soviet Union’s intelligence agency (The KGB) who goes on a journey of self-discovery to confront her past after finding out that her ex-handler from the Cold War is still alive. The movie was long awaited by fans, who have been desperate to see more of Marvel’s iconic femme fatale. It released to generally favourable reviews and a positive (though maybe underwhelming) box office performance, coming in 6th place with $25 million.
