Who Should Be The Next James Bond?

There’s a new job vacancy in Britain.

It’s all a bit hush-hush but we have found out that MI6 are looking for a new superspy after the old one decided to hang up his Walther PPK after 14 years in the job (which is a record). Know someone that fits the bill? Well, MI6 have compiled a shortlist which our man on the inside managed to send us a copy of just before he disappeared. Check them all out below, and vote up the ones you believe would make an excellent next 007, and down the ones you don’t.

Once you’ve voted, please pass this on to all your family and friends across social media so we can get as many votes as possible in our own not-so-secret little mission to find out who the peoples choice is for the next James Bond.

#1 Henry Cavill

Born:  1983 (age 37) in Jersey.
Height: 6feet 0in
Tall, dark, handsome, and as he plays Superman in the DC films, we already know he's got a great physique and can handle all the action scenes you throw at him. Another fine candidate with plenty of experience such as in the brilliant The Man From U.N.C.L.E film directed by Guy Ritchie. We think Henry has a great chance of being the next 007. How about you?

#2 Idris Alba

Born: 1972 (age 48 years) in Hackney, London
Height: 6ft 2in
Idris rose to fame as the ambitious Stringer Bell in the excellent HBO series The Wire, and then as the brilliant but unorthodox detective John Luther in the BBC series Luther, which he won a Golden Globe for amongst other awards.  Other big roles have seen him portray Heimdall in the Thor and Avenger blockbuster movies, and he also starred in the action blockbuster Pacific Rim.  In 2015 his role in Beasts of No Nation saw him nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA which again shows his great acting talent, and we think he's definitely got the style and charisma to become a first-rate Bond. Let us know if you agree by voting. Simply click the up arrow if you think Idris would make a good James Bond, or if you think otherwise simply use the down arrow.

#3 James Norton

Born: 1985 (age 35) London, England.
Height: 6ft 1in
A fantastic british actor, and he's certainly got the looks. Was brilliant as the murderous Tommy Lee Royce in the hit crime drama Happy Valley, and got his first starring role as the crime solving vicar in the ITV series Grantchester, alongside Robson Green, and then starred in the fantastic crime thriller McMafia. Could the next step in his career be as 007? What do you think?

#4 Tom Hiddleston

Born: 1981 (age 39) in London, England.
Height: 6 ft 1in
Many know him as Loki from the Marvel films and also from the excellent crime drama series The Night Manager for which he won his first Golden Globe Award. We think he could potentially be a great Bond. Let us know what you think in the comments, and by voting up or down for Tom Hiddleston as your next James Bond.

#5 Benedict Cumberbach

Born: 1976 (age 44 years) London
Height: 6' 0in
Having been classically trained, the man can certainly act, on stage or screen, and even is adept at impersonating other celebrities. Does this mean he could pull off the perfect Bond? Cast your vote and let us know in the comments!

#6 Henry Golding

Born: 1987 (age 33) in Betong, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Height: 6feet 1in
His first acting role was in the superb Crazy Rich Asians, which, if you've ever seen it, you'll already know that Henry has all the style and charm in the world to pull off the perfect bond. He looks great, he sounds great, and he can certainly act (check out some scenes from his other film Monsoon). We'd love to see Henry as the next James Bond and he is a Brit List favourite. If you agree, vote him up and let us know in the comments. If not, you know what to do.

In July 2021 it was announced that Page will be cast as the new Simon Templar in a reboot of The Saint.

#8 Tom Hardy

Born: 1977 (age 43 years), Hammersmith, London
Height: 5ft 9in
Plenty of experience with lots of big blockbuster action movies under his belt, so he's used to getting in the odd scrap or two and saving the day. We think Tom would be a very similiar Bond to Daniel Craig, which wouldn't be a bad thing, would it? Let us know if you see Tom as the next Bond by voting up or down.

#9 Richard Madden

Born:  1986 (age 34) in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
Height: 5feet 8in
Richard became famous as Rob Stark in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones and then won praise for his portrayal of Sergeant David Budd, the Principal Protection Officer in the BBC thriller series Bodyguard, which went on to become the UK's most watched drama series since current records began. A good primer for Bond perhaps? Madden also won the sharp Hugo Boss 'most stylish man' award, so there's no problem with him looking the part. Let us know what you think by casting your vote and letting us know in the comments section if you think Richard Madden is the man for the job of 007.
