The film also stars Kate Ashfield, Lucy Davis, Nick Frost, Dylan Moran, Bill Nighy, Penelope Wilton. The film was done on a budget of $6.1 million, and grossed over $30 million.
FILMED IN BRITAIN
Shaun of the Dead was filmed in London, at Ealing Studios, and on location around North London, including Crouch End, Highgate, Finsbury Park, and East Finchley. The shop where Shaun works is a real shop in North Finchley. The Winchester Tavern pub location was actually the Duke of Albany pub in New Cross, South London, which is a Victorian pub that got turned into flats in 2008.
SYNOPSIS
Shaun (Simon Pegg) is a 30-something loser with a dull, easy existence. When he’s not working at the electronics store, he lives with his slovenly best friend, Ed (Nick Frost), in a small flat on the outskirts of London. The only unpredictable element in his life is his girlfriend, Liz (Kate Ashfield), who wishes desperately for Shaun to grow up and be a man. When the town is inexplicably overrun with zombies, Shaun must rise to the occasion and protect both Liz and his mother (Penelope Wilton).
